Emily McCarty is a textile designer that has an affinity for turning fine art into something practical and sustainable. Currently living in Vancouver, BC, she grew up in the desert suburb of Los Angeles, Santa Clarita. Emily attended Academy of Art University in San Francisco on athletic scholarship for Track and Cross Country. She entered as a Fashion Design major but fell in love with Textiles and received her BFA in Textile Design May of 2018.

She was recognized by the CFDA for her Senior Collection and participated in the 2018 Future Fashion Graduates Showcase in NYC. Emily moved to New York to begin working at Calvin Klein Underwear where she became an Associate Designer for Color and Concept.

In March 2022 Emily left her role at CK to pursue her career on the West Coast and began working as a Graphic Designer for Perfect Press.

 

Wanting to utilize her background in fashion, she accepted a position as a Designer for the Concept Colour team at Lululemon in November 2022. Her focus remains on creativity and continuous learning.
